We are proud to announce that two of our Partners, Adeyinka Aderemi and Chinasa Unaegbunam, have been conferred with the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). They were both sworn in by the Chief Justice of Nigeria today, 30th September 2024, at the Supreme Court, Abuja.
Mr. Adeyinka Aderemi, admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2001, holds an LL. B from the University of Ife. With over two decades of experience, Adeyinka has become a trusted litigator and arbitrator, representing clients in a wide array of criminal and civil matters. His expertise spans banking, land disputes, intellectual property, insolvency, taxation, aviation claims, and maritime law, among other areas.
He has been involved in high-profile cases, including representing an international company in a major shareholders’ dispute, safeguarding over N1 billion in assets. Adeyinka also plays a critical role in defending clients from unlawful tax demands and protecting trademarks for global companies. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK Chapter, a member of the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN), London Court of International Arbitration (Users’ Councils) and the International Centre for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA).
Mrs. Chinasa Unaegbunam was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2001 after earning her law degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. As the head of our Aviation Practice Group and a Managing Partner, Chinasa brings exceptional expertise in both dispute resolution and legal advisory services. Her areas of specialization include aviation, employment, banking, construction, energy, and property law.
Chinasa’s contributions to the legal profession are notable, including her role in drafting Nigeria’s Civil Aviation Act of 2006, which incorporated critical international conventions. She has also been involved in significant aviation transactions, such as advising on the first-ever Export Credit Facility in the Nigerian Aviation sector granted by the US EXIM Bank. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a respected leader in the legal community.
