To which major air law treaties is your state a party?
Nigeria is a signatory to the following signifcant air law treaties:
the Cape Town Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment and its Protocol on International
Interests in Mobile Equipment on Matters Specifc to Aircraft Equipment (2001);
the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation (1944) and the Protocol relating to an amendment to the
Montreal Convention on International Civil Aviation (article 83-bis) (1980); and
the Geneva Convention on the International Recognition of Rights in Aircraft (1948).
These multilateral treaties are in effect by virtue of their respective domestication into law in the Civil Aviation Act 2006
(CAA). Nigeria has not acceded to or ratifed the Rome Convention (1952)
